Upcoming Rides

22 August 2026

The Come and Try It 1600 is a supported introduction to the ultimate form of recognised long-distance motorcycling, challenging riders to complete 1,600 kilometres within 24 hours.

Starting and finishing at Tailem Bend, the route is divided into three manageable loops through Crystal Brook, Mount Gambier and Loxton, allowing riders to return to the central base between each leg. It is not a race, but a personal test of planning, endurance and safe riding.

12 September 2026

The Davo Memorial Ride happens each September where riders gather first in Wilmington, South Australia from noon and then make their way to the foot of Horrocks Pass to remember David “Davo” Jones, the founder of FarRiders and a pioneer of Australian long-distance motorcycling.

Davo believed in encouraging riders to stretch their horizons, build their abilities and discover what lay beyond the next bend.

Ride the qualifying distance or simply make your own way there. What matters is gathering at a place Davo loved, sharing a few stories and honouring the rider whose vision brought FarRiders together.

Ride your ride. Remember Davo. Keep the road moving forward.

A FarRide to the Coleraine Hotel

This a self-planned long-distance ride requiring participants to cover at least 1,000 kilometres within 24 hours and arrive at Coleraine, Victoria, during the nominated check-in window.

Riders choose their own route and start time, then gather at the hotel to check in, share a meal and catch up with fellow long-distance riders.

It is not a race, but a test of planning, endurance and safe, responsible riding.

Race the Overland

On 2 November, take on an 800-kilometre, 10-hour challenge tracing the historic Overland rail route from Melbourne to Adelaide.

It is a fast-moving ride across western Victoria and into South Australia, following the path of one of Australia’s great interstate journeys—only this time, you are chasing the train by motorcycle.

2027 and beyond...

We plan to bring Farriders back to the community. This site will become the one stop for all things Farriding, whether it's to tell us about your rides in the coming forum, or looking up your ride history or just seeing what is coming up in the year ahead.

This will be your best destination once again.
